Our Timber
We cut your timber and use these whole trees to build you a true log home. After building your main structure, we then cut any lumber needs for interior walls, cabinets, countertops, flooring, decking, shingles or any other wood products needed for your home. We use our own mill to give you a one-of-a-kind home you can be proud of..

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FAQS
What is the insulation value?
The Department of Energy gives logs a rating of R1.41 per inch. Our logs range from 12 to 16 inches in diameter which gives your walls an average R value of 19.74! Typical 2×4 walls in an average stick-framed home are R13.
What about termites or other wood damaging insects?
We treat our logs with a natural non-toxic mixture of borax. This treatment prevents any wood-damaging insects from entering your home. It also stops mold and fungi growth
I've seen pictures of log homes in magazines. Why do your homes look different?
What you see in magazines and publications are what’s known as kit homes. They’re lumber cut to look like logs but are 6-inch thick dimensional lumber. These so-called logs are then stacked and bolted together giving the appearance of a log home.
How do I start?
Make a phone call and schedule an appointment. If you have any questions, I can just answer them and any initial design thoughts can be taken care of.
What is the payment schedule?
60 months for every $100,000
Example: $300,000 build = $90,000 down – $210 financing at $1,750/month for 10 years
Do you use pre-made log kits?
No, we never use pre-made kits to construct our homes.
Is financing available?
Financing is simple. We offer interest-free financing with a 30% down payment. You must own the land outright with no current mortgage. There is no credit check or income verification.
How long does it take to build a log home?
Construction of your home takes approximately 6-7 months after we clear the land and get the initial utilities set up. Weather, permit, inspection delays, and/ or supply chain shortages for finish materials could cause delays but we normally try to plan for an eliminate these in advance.
Do you allow for settling and shrinking?
Our building techniques are very unique and reduce settling and shrinkage to a minimum. Because of this, you won’t experience sticky doors or windows like you do in normal stick frames homes.
Can I have flat walls on the interior of may home?
We love the look of the logs, but we also realize that too much wood can be overwhelming, so we usually put drywall on some of the interior to break up the wood. However, if you want the interior modernized, we can do that also.
Can I change floor plans?
Floor plans are 100% customizable.
What species of logs do you use?
We use Norway Spruce which is grown on our wood lot. The trees are mature and approximately 90 feet tall and 18 inches in diameter.
Why do log homes survive forrest fires?
Whole trees either standing or cut down for homes have a built-in defense. When trees start to burn, the outside chars to protect the inner heartwood. That’s why after a major forest fire, you see trees that are still standing and severely burnt but do not burn to ash. In the event of a fire, you’ll have more time to evacuate or put out the fire and not sustain structural damage.

What about water rot?
Trees are designed by nature to not rot by water damage. A tree, when living, grows by pulling water from the roots up the tree. When cut down, that structure remains until the wood is cut into building lumber. What truly rots wood, is fungi. Our treatment process eliminates the possibility of mold.
Are new modern homes designed to be more durable and longer than older style log homes?
The truth is, that modern building materials are mostly inferior plastics or light-weight aluminum. We’ve all seen a modern home that hasn’t had regular maintenance done to it and the result is a home that won’t make it more than the life of a typical mortgage. Log homes last a very long time with minimal upkeep. As an example, this home built in Pennsylvania was built in the 1640s and was used consistently as a residence until 1937. It is nearly 400 years old.
